What is PAT testing?
Portable Appliance Testing refers to the testing of electrical appliances and equipment used by staff or tenants. The aim of the test is to make sure that the appliance is still safe to use and wont cause the user to receive an electrical shock or cause a fire.
The test is done visually and through testing via a pat testing machine, which will test the integrity of the cables to ensure it is safe to use. Faulty electrical equipment can cause sparks and shocks, if a faulty item is found it will be stickered with a red label and noted on the certificate.
