EICRs Angel
It’s vitally important that a home’s electrical system is safe and up to code. Homes whose electrical systems are outdated or otherwise compromised run an elevated risk of experiencing one of the 20,000 UK house fires each year caused by short circuits, worn-out wiring and other issues. Efficient Home Energy provide electrical system evaluations and EICRs in Angel that provide a clear picture of the state of a home’s electrical system including, if necessary, a list of areas that could use improvement.
What Exactly is an EICR?
EICR stands for Electrical Installation Condition Report and it is issued after a qualified electrical engineer has inspected a home’s electrical system, noting what works as expected and what doesn’t. Efficient Home Energy has produced countless EICRs in Angel and the surrounding areas over the past several years, enabling homeowners to verify the integrity of their system or use the notes in the EICR to bring their electrical systems up to speed.

How to Read EICRs in Angel
If you’ve never seen one before an EICR may look a bit strange. But they’re easy to understand once you know what you’re looking at. If no problems are found the engineer will indicate that the various tested components of the electrical system passed inspection. However, if one or more issues are found the engineer who conducted the electrical system evaluation will assign a C1, C2, C3 or F1 grade to whichever parts of the system presented problems. Here is what the different grades mean:
- C1: A C1 grade means there is a real and present danger that requires immediate remedial action.
- C2: A C2 grade means something was found that presents a possible risk of injury. While the threat is not immediate action is recommended.
- C3: A C3 grade indicates the system is non-compliant but does not pose a risk of injury.
- FI: F1 means the engineer found something they didn’t like and they recommend further investigation to establish what, if any, risk it poses.
